When he won the title in March 2011, he became the youngest champion in UFC history. As of December 2012, he was ranked as the #1 light heavyweight fighter in the world by various media outlets. Jon Jones was also ranked the #1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world by multiple publications. As of August 2014, he is #1 in official UFC pound-for-pound rankings. Despite his age, many analysts list him alongside some of the greatest fighters the sport has ever seen. His 84.5″ reach is also tied with heavyweight Stefan Struve for the longest in the UFC. As Lil Boosie, he has released five regular studio albums while contributing to a number of mixtapes and compilations. In 2001 he joined Trill Entertainment backed by its CEO the late Pimp C of UGK. Soon after, Trill independently released the album For My Thugz under his new alias Lil Boosie in 2002. His parents are Aretas Ruth (Dudley), a schoolteacher, and William Henry Grier, a psychiatrist and and writer who co-wrote the book Black Rage. David Alan Grier trained in Shakespeare at Yale University, where he received an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.
