Marie Antoinette Wright (born February 7, 1968), better known by her stage name, “Free”, is an American media personality, television producer and philanthropist. Free Marie rose to fame as the first host of BET’s 106 & Park. She was later a disc jockey at KKBT 100.3 The Beat in Los Angeles and is the former co-host of the Ed Lover Morning Show on Power 105.1 in New York City. Inspired by hometown group New Edition, Free Marie was part of a few groups in Boston performing and winning talent shows, while honing her singing and rap skills. Free left Boston to immerse herself in her true passion: music. This appearance was her first major appearance and the album eventually went gold. In 2003, Free Marie began to record a full-lengthed debut studio album titled, Pressure Free, which was expected to be released in spring of 2008. Free Marie went on to promote the album and release buzz singles via underground mixtapes from early 2003 to 2007. A buzz single, “Uh Huh”, featuring Busta Rhymes, leaked via the internet in hopes of regenerating buzz for the album. On December 1, 2009, Clear Channel Radio New York’s Power 105.1 (WWPR-FM), R&B, Hip Hop and Back in the Day Joints, announced that Malikha Mallette will move to co-host “The Ed Lover Show,” 5:30-9:30am and DJ Envy is Power 105.1’s new afternoon personality, 2-6pm weekdays. The announcement was made by Cadillac Jack, Power 105.1’s Program Director. rock on!” In October 2010, Free Marie returned to BET to produce and star in “106 & Park’s” two-episode anniversary show: “106 & Park: 10 Years & Counting” and “106 & Park: The Celebration, 10 Years Live!” Both shows earned the highest “106 & Park” ratings in BET history. On May 9, 2011, Free Marie began co-hosting “The Big Tigger Morning Show” on Washington, DC area radio station WPGC 95.5 FM, alongside Darian “Big Tigger” Morgan, 6am-10am weekdays. In December 2011 when Big Tigger was fired, Free continued the radio show solo. In 2002, Free founded the Free4Life Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to empowering young people in disadvantaged neighborhoods through programs that encourage literacy, financial education and creative arts. Through the foundation, Free Marie also launched the successful fundraising event, Break! Break!. Free Marie is also an advocate for breast cancer awareness. Forming team “Walk 4 Tina,” Free and her family walked 5.7 miles to help raise donations and awareness.

Mary Jane Blige born January 11th 1971 is an American singer, songwriter, model, record producer, and actress and better known as Mary J. Blige. Starting her career as a background singer on Uptown Records in 1989, Mary J. Blige released her first album, What’s the 411?, in 1992, and has released 11 studio albums since and made over 150 guest appearances on other albums and soundtracks. A recipient of nine Grammy Awards, in addition to receiving a record of thirty Grammy nominations, eight of Mary J. Blige ‘s albums have reached multi-platinum status in the United States. My Life, in particular, is considered among the greatest albums ever recorded according to Rolling Stone, Time, and Vibe. Blige as the 80th greatest artist of all time. Moreover, she is ranked number 100 on the list of “100 greatest singers of all time” by Rolling Stone magazine. In 2012, VH1 ranked Mary J. Blige at number 9 in “The 100 Greatest Women in Music.” Mary J. Blige also earned high remarks for her work in film. She starred in the 2009 Tyler Perry box-office hit I Can Do Bad All By Myself and played a role in the film Rock of Ages (2012). She received a Golden Globe Award nomination for her musical contribution to the film The Help. She was originally named to play music icon Nina Simone in the 2013 biopic Nina. In partnership with the Home Shopping Network (HSN) and Carol’s Daughter, Mary J. Blige released her “My Life” perfume. The perfume broke HSN records by selling 65,000 bottles during its premiere. The scent went on to win two FiFi Awards, including the “Fragrance Sales Breakthrough” award.
