Dirk Nowitzki was born Dirk Werner Nowitzki on June 19, 1978 in Born in Wurzburg, West Germany, Dirk Nowitzki comes from an athletic family: his mother Helga Nowitzki (née Bredenbröcker) was a professional basketball player and his father Jörg-Werner was a handball player who represented Germany at the highest international level. His older sister Silke Nowitzki, a local champion in track and field, also became a basketball player and now works for the NBA in International TV. After joining the local DJK Würzburg, at 15 years old Dirk Nowitzki attracted the attention of former German international basketball player Holger Geschwindner, who spotted his talent immediately and offered to coach him individually two to three times per week. Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks to 13 NBA Playoffs (2001–2012; 2014), including the franchise’s first Finals appearance in 2006 and only championship in 2011. In professional wrestling, Daniel Bryan is a five-time world champion, having held the WWE Champion/WWE World Heavyweight Champion three times, WWE’s World Heavyweight Champion once, and the ROH World Championship once. He is also a former United States Champion, had a 245-day reign as WWE Tag Team Champion as part of Team Hell No, and is a Money in the Bank winner.
